What’s the oldest thing you own that you still use daily?
Life is all about the juggling between necessity and luxury. And one who are not extravagant in any sense think that even little things of material passed on to them through generation is most expensive. Such a material of beauty has been passed on to me through generation is a simple red comb.
If you look at the comb you will be stunned to see how simple it looks, it doesn’t have any designed stone studded or artful work. Nothing but it’s so tiny being a comb that it can be carried anywhere in your pocket, purse, or in hand. But the most important thing is how it came in my life and how it is amazingly so old.
Originally it belonged to my maternal grandmother, so whenever she used to travel she used to carry and also that was her very favourite being the colour as sweetest red. She is no more with us, she has left the world in 2018. But what is with us is her memory, her fragrance, her personality through everything possible. This comb is again a representation of herself, her personality, her fragrance.

The comb was given by my mama (Maternal uncle) 2 years back along with her violet colour water bottle, black shawl and few more things as I always wanted to keep few things of person close to us.
That’s it now I use it daily, and while using it’s a whole new diffrent beauty. I understand how my grandmother used to comb with the same comb while traveling, may be by just looking at the Himalayas or sea of Puri beach. May be my grandfather just went by and amazed with her beauty. Realising that these all are my own imaginations and have the chance of being reality who knows?
But yes grateful for this beautiful simple comb.
It shall forever preserved.
then pass it on to the one who deserves
