What would you change about modern society?
The great modern society, the paramount of what humanity has been able to achieve till date. It is ever-growing and it keeps pushing forward, fuelled by the talent and hard work of countless people across the globe.
It is incredible to think where we have reached today from the time when idea of a systematic society was born into the minds of humankind. As the pages of the history turned, the landscape inhabited by our kind witnessed great changes and accompanying events which were the direct and indirect result of those changes.
There was a time when the major changes in the society were clearly evident in a decade or so, but with passing time the duration has kept receding and it has reached a spot where within five years or less, a variety of ideas spread their influence over the world and before one realises, there is a list of things one needs to learn or upgrade their knowledge with.
The rate at which the world is producing brilliant individuals in every field has thrusted the trajectory of growth to highest levels. The modern society is greatly benefiting from it and we all realise it in our day to day lives no matter where we go.
The modern society has its own share of cons as well, all the progress we have made has come at a cost, and the cost has been the very environment which sustains our lives. The scale of degradation had taken a leap when industrialisation ushered into the human world and now it has clearly taken a turn for the worst.
The climate change, the biggest concern of our era has its widespread affect over us all, in form of heavy rainfalls flooding the streets, cyclonic storms roaring through the shores, the skies turning dark with smoke, regular drinking water becoming a health hazard at many places and much more.
If we do not protect our environment, then everything we have built and sustained upon will be gone, all of our hard work will be for nothing, instead of waiting for the next big progress in our society we will be concerning ourselves with how long before a major catastrophe occurs. This world is our very own and it is in our hand to protect our legacy and secure a healthy future for those who will stand in our places one day.
