What profession do you admire most and why?
On a particular weekday, as I was waiting for the bus at a bus-stop, I looked around and for the very first time took my time to observe the different people. So many people going out every day towards their intended objective for that day, a major percentage of them consisting of students and people going out to practise the profession they are involved in.
Our professions are an important part of who we are. They define us in many ways. They are the destinations of our journeys which begin right when we begin to learn the functioning of this world and figure out where we fit in, with our interests, abilities and desires.
Most of us generally adopt a profession out of passion and interest while some of us follow the income and perks which a particular field offers. Necessity is an important factor as well for many while deciding their profession.
There are a multitude of professions around the world. Wherever the humankind has shown interest, multiple professions have developed over and around it, and there are more professions developing as our society is progresses even further.
The professions I have admired throughout my life have been many. As I have grown and ventured out into the world, I have come across many professions and still continue to do so. The most important part is to understand a profession. There are many aspects of every profession and we become familiar with them according to the interest with which we approach them.
While there are professions which I admire because of a skill or two I possess, which may allow me to practise them, but there are also some which I admire despite knowing I don’t have the required skills for them. Time is also a factor to be considered, there have been some professions which fell out of my interest and admiration due to their inability to blend with the progressing society or due to the complexities which have become a part of them which weren’t there before.
However, the profession I have always admired since I was small is that of my grandfather, which was that of a journalist. I was always amazed by the experiences and learnings his field had to offer and the many people he got to connect with from different walks of life.
