In life there are many situations which makes us feel proud, we are sometimes proud of our achievements, taking up a decision and most importantly proud of our family. Being proud for our family is very important and today in our short story we are going to narrate Sandhya’s story where she feels immensely proud and grateful for her mother Lalita.
It’s 12 pm in the afternoon and like everyday she started to write about her person of the day…like everyday she took out her notebook and a pen and gave a heading: My mother
In the next line she wrote
No, I am not going to glorify my mother Lalita Devi
She is like any other normal human being. Like a normal mother
As she came from a joint family, certain things are/were bound to be compromised.
So, Ma encouraged us to do what we were passionate about. Fetching our hobbies and doing every bit for our dreams to be accomplished.
I, being a paralytic patient and stroke patient, had to forgo my passion for teaching and more importantly paint.
My Ma gave me one of her sarees and encouraged me to paint, at the time, even when I was unable to hold a pencil. She made sure that I faced the world with confidence despite a war-ravaged face.
I was going through my second childhood and had to be fed and taught how to talk. Ma patiently nursed me.
At the age of 67, Ma joined the block printing class, barely a month after my baba’s demise.
Ma now knows how to operate smartphones and applications, which sometimes I am unable to do. Very much proud of her.
And she closed the thick diary !
That’s it!
Dated forever by Sandhya.
