What would you do if you won the lottery?
People have spent a lot of energy and resources in acquiring wealth in the past and they continue to do so in the present as well. Afterall money is what keeps our life running, it is what motivates many people to do great things in the world.
Money itself has become a popular subject of creating content on social media with many showcasing their earning, the authenticity of which might be very low, none the less it catches the attention of many people.
Many of us must have imagined in that one naive passing moment of life of finding one or the other easy means of acquiring a lot of money which would be the solution to all our financial needs to the end of our lives. I have also been one of those people and what is closer to most of the means than winning a lottery.
I have never participated in any form of lottery, but I have
come across the term many times mainly being used as a phrase in books or movies and even cartoon shows.
However, if somehow let’s say I gave in to the temptation and participated in a lottery event and walked away with the winning. What would I do? My answer about fifteen years from now would have been different. I would have probably said I would do nothing at all and just enjoy life to the fullest, travel around with friends, eat a lot of stuff and probably play games day and night and read books. I definitely wouldn’t have become a writer and wouldn’t have been able to understand the responsibilities of life that we must take on after a certain time in life.
Back then there wasn’t exactly anything I was motivated to do in life or achieve, I simply wanted to live it in the simplest manner with the least number of complexities. But like many may tell you, if things are without their share of struggle, then you are surely not doing much. So, this didn’t happen and although I didn’t do much, I would say I have been through a lot.
But, today, things are very different and if the same lottery winning scenario was to present itself today, I like to believe that now with a better understanding of the world I might handle things better.
First, I would be relieved that my family is now secure in terms of all forms of best medical facilities available and I know my wife will persuade me to donate some of it which I will. After making some good investments so that I never find myself in any form of financial crisis ahead in life I would look at this beautiful planet of ours on a world map and try to explore as much as I can in search of new experiences and ideas.
With the need of money out of mind, I can’t help but imagine that I would be able to sit and write the most interesting book I can write without any possible distractions. Well I don’t know the answer to that and I am happy with how things are, right now, and the book will definitely come whether I win a lottery or not.
