” The average office worker now spends 40 percent of their work time wrongly believing they are “multitasking”–which means they are incurring all these costs for their attention and focus. In fact, uninterrupted time is becoming rare. One study found that most of us working in offices never get a whole hour uninterrupted on a normal day.”
Johann Hari, Stolen Focus: Why You Can’t Pay Attention- and How to Think Deeply Again
We all have a definite fixed 24 hours in a day whether you stay in south or north or anywhere time for a day is the same. So many of us switch over to multitasking because we need to cover a lot of tasks within a time. But in this effective article we are going to read is multitasking good for us or it is like Jack of all trades and master of none.
Here we have five amazing treats if we are a real player when multitasking then these are must.
More work can be done in less time frame –
When we asked a group of people why they indulged in multitasking? The first and foremost answer was because we want to do a lot of work in specific working hours. Ankur Warikoo in his course Take charge of your time effectively explains how it is you who can actually take charge of your own time. The method of time management is a skill and multitaskers know to govern their skill in the best possible way.
Learning the basics of everything –
The multitasking personality is someone who knows how to do everything but the basics, from cooking to stitching shoes. It is a very important step to multitask since it helps us during emergencies and settle a situation just with basic skills. Basic skills help to survive any situation led before them.
Multitaskers do much work then one who does one task at a time
Multitaskers doing much more work within 24 hours can be a myth or a true reality. But what is important is they want to do a lot of given tasks in less time frame. Knowing they get to work much a lot of work in lesser time . According to great spiritual leaders it is said that it’s never about how much multitasking you are doing, rather it’s important how balanced and with proper perfection you do the work. Every perspective is different but multitasking should be done with focus and analysis.
Now if there’s so much good in Multitasking then why do we fear doing it? Yes correct! It has flaws or negative sides as well which restricts in multitasking
Make the quality of productivity less –
Some people are not in favor of multitasking hence says it reduces the productivity. But why since a multitasker is trying to give ultimate focus to two or more tasks at a time. A practical human brain cannot keep focus for more than 17 seconds in a subject so if it is 2 to 3 subjects at a time it is really not a good focus.
There might not be the perfection for each task-
It is a 50:50 percentage chance of perfection. Why? Since you must have heard the multitasker say all the time I had a lot of work to do so I couldn’t keep doing this work or couldn’t keep a track on this. Now the problem is not multitasking The problem is time management. There are people who manage time well but also there are people who cannot manage time well and keep on multitasking because of multiple reasons.
What do you think in which category do you fall?
Multitasking has the chance of over exhaustion –
When someone is multitasking over exhaustion is a very complimentary effect. If you are stressing over two or more things there is a chance of exhaustion. Now our brain has a capacity it cannot take more than that. So if we are into too much multitasking we need to understand what is needed and what is not and prioritize accordingly. So working too much may lead to over exhaustion
Conclusion
So we have reached at the end of our blog and see we cannot blame multitasking being the sole responsible factor of unproductiveness. Multitasking is basically your own art and your ownness of management of time.
