There was an office and the office had a position, and Savya was in that position. The office had many memories for her, and so did the path that led to it.
Her mornings were accustomed to her waking up at 6, and her family had adjusted themselves to her mornings.
Some colleagues were friends, some rivals and some a damn nuisance, but no one was prepared for what was to come.
A layoff had been decided upon; many were let go with a sad pretence. Savya was one of them. A funny outcome to four years of hard work and decent performance. In the end, it was the salary that became the deciding factor.
Savya now sat awake in the morning, at the same time on the same bed to a similar morning. The family awoke as well, as had become the habit.
She stared at the thoughts in the mind, which were struggling to settle. With nothing certain, the image of the future was fading.
She didn’t want the negative thoughts to stay, but at this moment they were winning. But she also saw the glow of the thoughts that stayed strong and she knew they would continue to glow strong and bright and there was yet another good page to the story of this life waiting for her to work upon. The future, although a bit different, had begun to form another image.
