Today in the corporate world scenario what is important is to have a proper understanding of soft skills as well. With technical abilities, it’s important how you grow and enhance your soft skills as well with your technical abilities. Today in the hybrid culture of work what is important is to be smart in a soft-skilled way.
Before we start, do you know what soft skill is?
Personal attributes that enable someone to interact effectively and harmoniously with other people this is what Google dictionary says.
But in detail, it means your personality and its features which can bring a rippling effect in the company. If we see workwise the company hires the best capabilities in the position but personality wise everyone is different. So the encouragement of making the personality better is also important here.
”The future belongs to those who learn more skills and combine them in creative ways.”
Robert Greene
Here are the 10 important soft skills that the employer searches for in an employee :
Communication skill –
Here the most important part is communication skills. If one doesn’t know how to communicate then one will never know how to present his or her idea. Also knowing when to say what shd how much is one of the essences of corporate life communication. Communicate with knowledge and integrity.
Time management skill –
Time is everything. Someone also said time is money. So what do you think would be a great choice if you know how to manage time? The more you know to manage time the more it will be good for you also since you will know how to do more work in fewer hours or if you are taking a leave. Many people learn to manage skills with time and practice once they know the situation.
Emotional intelligence –
It is very important to have emotional intelligence and today it is so important that it is even more important than the Intelligent quotient (IQ). Emotional intelligence helps the employee to understand what is important and what is not. Also to balance professionalism and professional enthusiasm in a company setup. Emotional intelligence also helps to understand the employee’s demands and how he wants to work.
Adaptability to all kinds of environments –
The concept of adaptability is important. New interns, new position holders, and even your immediate senior or your manager can get changed in one day’s notice. You should be able to adapt to work with all and everyone. Keeping a good gesture and being polite to everyone raises the bar at the end. You will always be a great choice if you can adapt well.
Team management –
Who knows if your employer wants an intern to be a team manager in the upcoming 2 years if she or he puts in some effort? You never know what goes in an employer’s mind. What best you can do is put in your share of effort completely. Even if they ask you to manage the team for a small project or a day, give your full effort because maybe through that project they are choosing the next team manager.
Creativity –
Whatever your niche or field is, you must be creative in one way or the other. But why? When you know your domain or your field will be exciting if creativity is added. Creativity adds productivity and also many ways to complete a task. It’s important to be creative since through creativity only you can change the computer wallpaper which is the first thing you probably see every morning.
Dependency –
Now we have to understand that dependency and team management both are different. An employer can respond whenever needed. Sometimes this responsibility can be the trainer for a day which may not be your work every day. Mutual adjustment and understanding will make you understand how much work is to be done and for whom this will be called dependency.
Convincing –
Agree or not convincing is an art form and everyone cannot convince other people. A company will be in favor of someone who can get their deal done or have a green signal. So many times in the assignment itself they provide you the analytical capacity of convincing someone of something.
Problem-solving –
The problem can come from anywhere to anyone. Not just in the office by office colleagues, but in small to big office situations. One who has a problem-solving attitude and does not see the darker negative sides of everything is chosen upon. Here being positive and having an optimistic mindset are very important.
Basic computer skills –
Few organizations count this as a technical skill and few are soft skills. Knowing basic computer skills is the need of the time. There are several YouTube channels for computer courses and books are also available in the market.
