What do you enjoy most about writing?
There are entire worlds out there built by individual thoughts written down in one form or another or are on the journey of reaching out there through these written words. This world keeps on changing. Many have walked in before, stayed and left, leaving their lasting impressions in the shelves of many institutions, houses and libraries, while many continue to walk in, making changes with thoughts of an ever-progressing time.
This is the world of writers. No, not anyone who writes can be here. There is a certain amount of deep emotion which allows one to realise he/she is there. I have always had this feeling and I have talked to some people who have felt the same.
An uncle of mine, a writer and author, spoke very less. Lived life more with expressions and less with spoken words. Very often he could be seen lost in his very own world, staring out the window or simply at the rotating fan. Some of the thoughts of these moments can be found in his books, but not all his writings were the part of a book and most of them were spread across in his diaries. When I was small, I couldn’t find a good reason behind it, but now I think there was always more than one alluring reason.
For many nowadays, their smartphones are a convenient escape from the life they are living, to take mind away from all the busy thoughts of practically living the life. But this escape is as small in its reach as the device within which it is contained. Hence, hobbies still remain the most effective way to embrace this escape to its deepest corners.
For me writing is that most effective escape. Although I may warn one not to be too addicted to it, because you never know when it will snatch someone away forever.
