The Motivating Factors

What motivates you?

Motivation is a very strong word. Without motivation or sometimes without the right motivation or the right amount of motivation, life can become that food item which is hard and devoid of taste, very difficult to chew on, no option present of spitting it out and it makes you feel the discomfort all the way down the throat. That is if one is truly searching for motivation.

Not all people feel the same way though. I have seen some people who have become very accustomed to not being motivated anymore to do anything in life, just living with the bare minimum requirement. I don’t understand if I should feel sad for them, because in the end it is their life and they are not harming anyone, but do they lack the right motivator? Only they can tell.

We become motivated from very early on in life, even before we know what the term actually means. It always begins with the small first acts, trying to draw your favourite cartoon or do that dance step or making that sandwich for the first time among many others.

I just wish the mediums of being motivated were as simple as they were in childhood. Things do get a bit not exactly complex but more elaborate as we become more aware of the world in our adulthood.

So, what motivates me in the morning to get up? The thought of getting an early start which might result in me being able to work more efficiently throughout the day. What motivates me while I work? The obvious dream waiting to be fulfilled and the next cup of coffee. What motivates me to spend time with family? The fear of missing out on the time I have with them before it is too late. What motivates me to dedicatedly spend time with my hobbies? The need to be and live more than just my work. A few other honourable mentions in the form of always common motivators, good friends, good food, good music and a good family based show.
