The Required Stillness

What could you do differently?

I have been reading this book about Kings of past and there was a fair deal of conflict and battles in it. Armies rushing down sea cliffs or through the forests or open fields to meet in a bloodied frenzy.

When you have an imaginative mind, you wander off, away from the human elements of the book and created ones of my own in form of a wandering traveller writing records of everything he noticed and I always believe the view of everywhere around must be something out of the world with the least amount of human presence and influence. It always seems like the camera was missing when the views were most ripe.

I have a habit of this strolling off into my own thoughts or imaginations, it is fine but the problem is, by the time I come back to reality I realise I have spent most of the night awake. Now, this wasn’t an issue in my childhood days, it was easier to deal with less sleep. But as you grow up into a full fledged adult you realise you need that sleep especially if your work requires a good amount of creative input, you need that sufficient amount of sleep for your brain to function more smoothly and think more clearly.

As I, along with all others over the planet, step into this new year, I always hope each year will be better than the precious one for all those with good dreams, hopes and intentions and I have put this more than occasional compromised sleep of mine on the top of my ‘things to repair in life’ list.
