There was once a food truck. Anish was the owner of the food truck. The items on the menu were not complex or fancy, it had everyday Indian household food items along with some common beverages like tea or coffee.
“Will that sell?” a few wondered, but it did sell. The price was affordable, the food was healthy, people began to prefer the food truck. Even my grandfather got food packed from there a few times.
It was certainly the highlight of the neighbourhood, for a while it certainly was. But the fascination began to fade. It was still a time when people could more conveniently find time to cook their own food since they were not as burdened with work as people nowadays are.
Two years later, like each summer vacation I visited my grandparents, I found the food truck gone.
Nowadays in a world where time has become quite less one way or another, there are so many services for the convenience of people. Many places to get food, even convenient food delivery services. In a time like this I wonder if Anish and his food truck would have thrived to continue on for many years to come, but would it feel the same without the calm of the past.
