How do you waste the most time every day?
I spend my time doing a lot of things. I wouldn’t call any one of those time consumers necessarily a waste of time. We often do things consciously or subconsciously because they are either needed to be done or pleasing to be indulged into or sometimes we do something because a particular circumstance enables or makes it look compelling to be done.
There are two things that have consumed a lot of time in my life apart from my professional and educational endeavours. They are watching movies and playing games on pc or consoles. These two activities have a history that follows, such as watching movies with my father and also playing games with him. The talks I had with my dad about how movies were in his days, I still cherish till this day. I still remember playing games on video game consoles using game cartridges. Those were some truly memorable times. There weren’t any online services back then or their reach wasn’t widespread yet; and thus we had to take out time to go out to the shops to buy or rent a movie or buy games. It was an experience in itself.
I still occasionally spend time doing those two activities, and as I have grown, my approach towards them have become different along with the activities themselves having gone through changes themselves.
There is always a matter of perspective on how time should be utilised, and we cannot plan it all, sometimes it feels a bit peaceful and relaxing to just flow with what makes us feel comfortable and many times happy. What someone likes doing might be a waste of time to another. We all have our own lives, and we live it differently and we should live it without regrets. Because in the end, nothing is truly a waste, and in one way or another, no matter how minute, everything contributes to the stories of our lives.

I enjoyed your discussion. We all need simple moments to bring us a break from the ordinary of each day. When I find a classic film from generations ago, I’m all in.
