Rain

The environment had already enjoyed an earlier brief spell of rain. The smell of the wet earth made its presence known. The trees shone in their tones of green. The droplets of water on the leaves and petals of flowers reflected the partial sunlight which managed to escape the clouds. The approach of darker rain filled clouds could be seen.

As I took my time to proceed towards my home, a part of my mind drifted off into the world of thoughts. Rain had marked many memorable moments of my life, most of which were of simply staring at it from the comforts of the home, experiencing the peace in the sound of falling raindrops. Some of those moments had music in them, some had very deep conversations with loved ones, some included activities such as singing, dancing or playing board games and on some occasions running out in the rain was the most pleasing thing that I could think of doing.

I have also quite enjoyed the dark shade of the environment during the day as the gloomy clouds gather to announce the arrival of rain. This dark shade is an occasional pleasing departure from the other regular days full of sun. The shades of nature are truly beautiful.
Suddenly, something broke into my thought, I felt it, the touch of light raindrops. A smile made its way across my face as I looked up at the sky allowing my face to feel the kiss of the rain. I moved ahead to my home, where new moments awaited my presence.
