Realisation of Peace

What brings you peace?

The moderate light of the Sun made everyone’s smiling faces glow. We had gathered in the playground for an event which involved flying kites. Children were running around in their colourful clothes, carrying kites and laughter with them. The grownups were engaged in conversation with other familiar faces. Some people had already started flying kites.

I looked up at the sky, the spread of the clouds over the sky was very captivating. The kites were flying high up there, their thin paper fluttering against the wind which carried them. Some youngsters began kite fighting. As the kites fell out of sky, children ran to collect them and claim them their prize.

I started clicking pictures of the sky, the flowers and some pictures of the people around. There was a sudden moment of realisation that most of the kites had fallen out of the sky. All but one kite remained. It soared up in the blue tranquil sky and I found myself in a temporary state of peace. Everything around me became silent and still, the only thing I could see and feel moving was the kite, and for a minute or two my mind and soul had flown away along with the kite experiencing endless peace.
