Ahha the famous Chandrayan 3! Have finally reached the moon and breaking all records and believing we can. Being India being to able to witness this historical event is more than just a pride. From very childhood we have known stories and folktales about Chanda mama or some scientific innovations and headlines like Water on the moon and when reality is reached its more than glorious joy.

Today let us know India’s moon expedition series.

Chandrayan 1

Moon expedition:

The Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee announced the Chandrayaan 1 project on course in his Independence Day speech on 15th August 2003.The mission was a major boost to India’s space program.

🎯The Chandrayaan-1, India’s first Moon mission

🎯The orbiter discovered water on the Moon, catalyzing plans by nations to further explore our cosmic neighbor and even send astronauts.

Chandrayan 2:

Moon expedition

It is said Chandrayan 2 is not successful but definitely paved the way for Chandrayan 3. The chandrayan 2 has certain scientific goals of the orbiter which are –

🎯To study lunar topography, mineralogy, elemental abundance, the lunar exosphere, and signatures of hydroxyl and water ice.

🎯To study the water ice in the south polar region and thickness of the lunar regolith on the surface.

🎯To map the lunar surface and help to prepare 3D maps of it.

Things were majorly not fulfilled.

Chandrayan 3

Moon expedition:

The much awaited Chandrayan 3 is one most awaited moment for all Indians and in global science affairs.

What is historic about the event?

The Chandrayan 1 expedition has witnessed that moons South pole might have water. So registering that Chandrayan 3 was determined to have a smooth launching in the South pole of the moon. This is history. India becomes the first country in history of mankind to have a smooth launching of spacecraft on the moon South pole sharp at 6:04pm.
