Story of Maa Durga’s blessings

Maa Durga’s blessings

Durga Puja is not far away,

The Dhaker awaj (sound of a musical instrument) to Autumn season we know the pujo is here.

Today not only in Bengal Durga Puja is a wordly affair. It’s Bengalis emotion and strong connection with Ma Durga.

Maa Durga

Let us know this from a very beautiful story and this story can also be the bedtime story of your children.

Bablu, known as the most honest man of the village, who cultivates in his farm everyday. But his land is slowly becoming dry and infertile because of water scarcity.

Bablu was so upset but with honesty he kept on working hard on the farm everyday.

But his efforts were useless, as nothing was growing in the farm, due to the insufficient water.

One day he was discussing with his wife, Kamala what can they do about this situation? There’s no crop coming and Bablu has tried every method for the cultivation.

But Alas Bablu’s wife didn’t have much idea about farming so she suggested praying to Maa Durga, she believed Maa Durga will help them in some way or the other.

Bablu started praying maa Durga with patience everyday. He even gave water to the Tulsi tree and prayed.

One day Bablu was praying:-

”Maa Durga please give me blessings, I am not able to cultivate anything on our land, if this goes on I will not have any crop left then I will not be able to feed my children.”

After prayer Bablu went to his farm. Everyday he was trying hearder. After reaching his farm, he used to go to the river which was far and bring water from there which was not sufficient for the crops.

After a few weeks it seems Maa Durga was happy with Bablu’s prayer and she came in Bablu’s dream one day when Bablu was deep asleep.

Maa Durga said , ” Bablu look here I am your mother and I have come to see you”

Bablu was so surprised in dream and joined his hand and said, ”Mother! mother! I really need your help please help me to grow crops in my farm.”

Then Maa Durga informed him that she will plant a big tree in his garden when one leaf of the tree will fall and one part of your land will fill with crops.

It will continue like this when the entire number of leaves will fall, your land will be full of crops but he needs to remember one thing: he cannot touch the tree which Maa Durga has planted. Otherwise things may turn otherwise.

Bablu was extremely happy but couldn’t believe what he had just seen in his dreams. He thought may be this is an illusion and not reality.

Next morning, Bablu and his wife woke up with the sound of birds chirping.

Bablu narrated the story and said it’s all blessings of maa Durga, then they went to their agricultural land to see if any crops had grown .

Bablu’s wife Kamala

With utter surprise they couldn’t believe what they were seeing one portion of the varren land was no more barren. It was full of crops. Lush green crops.

But now they should stay alert so that nobody touches the tree, otherwise they will lose even whatever they have.

After that every day one leaf used to fall and one part of the agricultural land of Bablu used to get filled .

One day a neighbor of Bablu’s house came to their house and asked Bablu to cut off the tree because one of the leaves of the magical tree had fallen on his courtyard.

Bablu warned him not to touch the tree and he went to his farm. Meanwhile the neighbor, without knowing the tree is a magical tree, started cutting it.

When Bablu came back, he saw that magical tree had fallen on the ground. He understood that his neighbor cut the tree.

He was so upset, he didn’t sleep properly. The next morning, he rushed to his farm and saw that all the agricultural land was again barren.. Bablu cried aloud:-

”Ohh! Maa Durga, What has happened to me and my family! why did this happen? Maa Durga please show your blessings! ohh it’s not my fault.”

Maa Durga that night appeared again in Bablu’s dream and said that she knew that it’s not Bablu’s fault but he should have taken care of the plant.

Now She will give him five big pitchers and each will be filled with rice. He can use it to sell and feed his family.

Also if required he can give it to the poors and from next year Bablu’s farm will grow and will be full of crops.
Bablu was extremely overjoyed and the next morning he saw indeed five pitchers were kept full of rice. Then he thanked maa Durga and started doing puja everyday religiously.

Now Bablu and his wife started to live happily ever after and next year his farm was full of crops.

Maa Durga is always there for her children. Do you know only 49 days are left for Durga Puja this year.
