Something to Think of

Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.

I was travelling with my parents in our car, it was time for festivities. All around beautiful decorations could be seen. People young and old rushing from one place to another in new traditional clothes.

We were visiting my grandparents. As the car was parked, I rushed to my grandparents house knowing there was a high possibility that they were not home and I was right. My grandparents were very social, at times of festivities they were out busy participating in the festive event that the society celebrated together.

Festivals have a magic of their own. They push away all forms of barriers and bring people together.

As me and my parents reached the place of the festive event, there they were.. my grandparents. How happy they were to see us, introducing us to everyone who didn’t know us and announcing our arrival to those who did. Everyone was smiling, talking and celebrating together. We were all happy, especially me. This is something that usually occured every year.

As I grew older I focused more on my professional venture and the time I spent on these festive events became relatively less. The biggest mistake which I think I made was not realising until later that things in life are not forever and someday people will go away and things will end and there will be guilt and regret.

These are the moments which have decorated my life and made it worth living and I wish I had given more time from my limited life in this world to these moments.

However, I know it is not too late and I will make sure the years I have left in my life will mean more in every manner and I will bid my farewell to this mortal existence with a heart full of precious memories.

  1. Anuran, you should feel blessed as you have realised such a precious lesson not much late. I think it is in time you have understood the values of family and friends. Maintain this. Stay blessed.
