Nostalgia and Dance Drama

From very childhood when we are learning dance we tend to improvise steps, expressions and follow the movements. Dance is a flowy movement which is associated with expression and body synchronization. When you dance you can experiment with lots of its capacity and experimentation. Today let us talk about DANCE DRAMA and its essence from the early stages till today. From the very initial phase dance have been the source of merry making source of showcasing happiness and festivities. But with time it was seen dance was the form of emotion in every aspect like– sadness, anger and madness. Hence we know the emergence of Dance Drama. Rabindranath Tagore has written four dance dramas like– shyama, Chitrangada, Chandalika and Shrabongantha. Along with the music its representation of story line by acting.

Here let us know a story of little ananya and how her mom prepares her for Rabindranath Tagore’s Dance drama SHYAMA.

MUMMMYYY comes running one day Ananya and starts screaming at the top of her voice. ” MUMMYYY! Do you know I have been selected to play SHYAMA’s friend in Tagore’s dance drama SHYAMA.

Her mom remembers her olden days where she represented Shyama and how time flies and now her daughter grown up so fast to play the Role of Shyama. Shyama with the evolving Characterisation of female love it also demonstrates how Rabindranath Tagore seen the feminity the female love, joy and happiness and everything comes with it.

Her mom decked her up for Shyama on the day of her performance. With Red salwar suit, golden jari set , few Jasmine flowers, red bindi, red bangles and the dress was completed with lots of safety pins.

Ananya looked so beautiful. It resembles her mom when she went to perform the same dance drama three decades back when her grandmother decked her mother up. It so beautiful how these hobbies not only crafts the enjoyment but also the nostalgic attributes keeps it strongly beautiful.

Teary eyed Ananya’s mom watched the Shyama dance along with her father. Reminiscing golden days, holding her father’s hand and yes it is the same show when Ananya’s father had fallen in love with her mother. From Rabindranath ‘s Shyama she became his Shyama for life .

Let us create beautiful memories with our hobbies.
