The Green Sky

What is your favorite place to go in your city?

Green…. The sky was green… for a while all my eyes could see was green. A sight unforgettable, a feeling indivisible.
No, it was not a big tree with far and wide branches laden with leaves. I was too small to comprehend what it was at that time. My grandfather would later tell me it was a flock of parrots sitting in an empty field. He had insisted me to put the feeling to words, but I could not find the relevant words for it so I followed my grandfather’s expression ‘the green of the field spread into the sky’. The expression is indeed more beautiful than anything I can think of.
I always feel like the moment was waiting for me, running on the partially muddy trail towards the field which gave the most captivating hue of green, hoping to quench my curiosity with an answer which was closer than just spoken words.
The modernisation of world has presented us with many convenient means but it has also taken away many things memorable, the field being one of them along with the birds which have left the modern cities. If by any miracle, that field was to reappear again and the birds were to return I would love to run once more on that partially muddy trail and see the green sky once more.

  1. Loved it big. And now we know, where from did you get this flair for such beautifu descriptive writing. Seems it comes from your grandfather. Not many grandfathers would insist to put into words the feelings of observing a field covered with green parrots and then the same taking off….Keep it up. More and more as I keep reading your blogs, I more keenly look forward to them.
