Every winter vacation of smiti brings both happiness as well as sadness. Happiness because she knows winter means they will go to the trip for the next 7 days and sadness because she will not be able to meet her friends.
Smiti reads in class six . With exploration of the world she is learning different skills to be prepared for the world..
This time Smiti’s dad has planned to visit Nainital which is in Indian state Uttarakhand.
Her winter vacation that particular year started on 22nd December and they planned for the trip on 24th December 2023.
All set they started their much awaiting journey of Nainital. Smiti and her parents… Started their journey via train and with the enjoyment of scenic beauty they enjoyed their journey… There were countless number of hawkers selling their food product and mineral water…
In their journey they met various people but you know a train journey is similar to that of life journey where we meet so many people some we remember and some we don’t .. it’s the process of life.
They met the family of Mr Ghosh and Mr Chatterji..
The whole journey Smiti played with the two children Mainak and Vishnu. It seemed a beautiful journey… It was so good that they planned the entire trip with them from Nainital to almora to Ranikhet to Lots of other places…
It seemed that that they have found their long lost friend and travel company forever.
Just like every trip gets over The Nainital trip was supposed to end… Teary eyed Smiti Mainak and Vishnu only knew that it’s totally uncertain that when will they meet again. The other two families stayed in Kolkata whereas Smiti and her parents stayed in the district.
They came back home
The only thing was more than Nainital she started to miss her friends creating the so beautiful everlasting bond in life.
Years later,
Smiti reached 20 years of age. Her long dream of finding her friends and starting for group trips ignited . She started with her local Digha trip with 5 of her family members asking them to trust her as she plans everything by herself from hotel to scenic beauty, other itineraries it was her beginning.
Today she is volunteering for solo trip as well as conducting Group trips for everyone but her main focus is for old people who cannot travel due to their old-age. She with her team of 7 fulfills their dream.. she can !
The every year trip which her parents used to take her, today has resulted in such a beautiful concept.. she knew whatever she is getting out of those trips should be recieved by more people.
Thus the advent of this idea.
You know just like Smiti we all can we all have the capacity just that a thought can change the perception.

Responding in details just becaue you expect me to give an honest opinion. I do know I am no expert, but give my thoughts as a ‘reader’!
“Your story beautifully captures the nostalgic charm of childhood vacations and the profound impact of fleeting connections. Smiti’s journey, both in Nainital and later in life, resonates with a universal theme of personal growth and the power of human connections.
However, as a reader, I sensed a bit of a leap in the narrative from Smiti’s childhood trip to her adult endeavors. Exploring more details about her personal growth, the specific moments that fueled her passion for organizing trips, and the challenges she faced could provide a more seamless transition. This would deepen the emotional connection with Smiti’s transformative journey. (Ofcourse, every writer has her/his style, so ignore this if it does not sync with your thought process)
Also I feel, the title, ‘a thought can change the perception,’ while insightful, seems slightly disconnected from the narrative. Perhaps incorporating Smiti’s initial thoughts or reflections during her childhood trip and how they evolved over time could strengthen the thematic alignment.
Overall, your narrative evokes a heartfelt resonance, and with a bit more exploration, it has the potential to create an even more immersive and cohesive reading experience. Well done, and looking forward to more from your storytelling journey!”
