What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?
When I started reading books for the first time, it wasn’t about making reading a hobby or improving my fluency in the language but it was to step into the world of stories and to find those characters myself, which have been part of the many stories which my grandmother told me.
My grandmother is a great storyteller, I don’t think I have felt anything close to the joy I felt when I heard my grandmother narrate stories. For a long time in my childhood whenever I read a story I imagined it being told to me by her.
Ahead in life, I came across books and other written works of numerous writers and the amount of writings across the world is nothing less than the most precious treasures that exist. I can only be fortunate to go through most of them in my lifetime.
A writer was not the first thing I wanted to be in this world, in fact it was not even among the first set of professions which I had thought of. But, it was the one which stuck with me when I came across it and I admit I came across it too late, and the realisation that this is what I want took even longer to come.
So, I wanted to become a writer but the main problem was, now what to do about it? i wanted to write, I could maybe write something average at best but what would I write? where would I write it? So many questions and I, an introvert, was trying to figure it out by myself. I was failing and I sadly gave up. How naive of someone to give up on something like this.
I had given up, but little did I know life had not given up on me and it came in the most beautiful way possible for me. When I found the one with whom I would spend the rest of my life, I had no idea it would also bring back what I had left. She brought back writing into my life. The year 2023, is the year I started writing completely for myself using my thoughts, expressions and skills along with my more capable partner. Now, I know I will continue to write till the end of my existence. Thanks to everyone who has supported us throughout this journey, your support has meant a lot to us.
