Identify

From the very childhood a child is made to learn a lot atleast in a Bengali culturally strong household where along with education hobbies plays an important role.

Creativity plays an important and crucial role in every child.. everyone learns how to draw, sing a song and dance a bit and recite a poem.. it’s so much culturally strong and beautiful too. All comes one after the other it’s a string of confidence that keeps a child growing.

Such is our little Tanya. Yes, today’s Central character of our story.

Today Tanya is 25 years old and one cozy winter afternoon she thinks looking at the window that parents though middle class always gave her the most comfortable life. With education she could pursue all her hobbies actually those were just extracurricular activities but later they turned out to be her hobbies.

She learnt dancing from her sister and painting from her brother and it’s the homely atmosphere which helped her to sing a bit of songs and recite few poems.

She knew it all.

But in 25 age she realises what is importance in life hobbies? Yes she has plenty. Job? She wants a job which will help her be financially stable and be responsible financially. Caring towards family? She wants to do it always.

Who is she who has plenty of hobbies but unable to choose one or the one who is looking for a stable job for financial stability.?

Like Tanya we are all in this disillusionment that what we actually want in life.. who are we and how our hobbies is in us? And how to combat the situation if someone has plenty of hobbies.

Yup time management is the skill. Like Tanya if we are disillusioned plan out your day!

That’s it for today .

  1. That’s a nice story, maybe relatable to the present times but I feel the youth today are much more prepared and chart out a plan for their future much earlier than we did a few decades back.
Tanya I would say is more ‘confused’ than ‘disillusioned’. Tanya to me seems a ‘jack for all, master of none type’ and hence her present predicament. And I must add, I agree time management is a skill but here in this case , at the moment it is not about “time management” but life management….she needs to first identify her area of strength
Maybe she needs to differentiate between a hobby and a skill? Just my 2 cents..
All said, still a story has a message….”plan early”!
