Hilarity

What makes you laugh?

Everything is black and white, like a classical movie of a time olden.

The walls, the ceiling, the tube light, the table, the chair, the books on the table and even the open page of one of the books, everything is reflecting shades of black and white.

‘Cough-cough !’ Yes, I forgot to mention, there is a fairly old man present in the room as well. He is looking at us. Just look at that dry barren expression. Some might say the gentleman hasnt smiled for at least a century.

Would you like to make him smile? Well, not that it would matter and it is all for a good reason, trust me. I will tell you why. Now, let’s add some colours to our imagination like the colours present around us at this very moment.

So, the old man is me, well a future imaginary version of me. In the past, one day, right at the peak of my heavily introverted life, I tried to envision what was to happen of me, should my life continue on its current course.

I dug deep into my non-existent abilities of predicting the future and ended up with one particular certainty which was very obvious and that certainty was of being this old man sitting in a room, a face devoid of smile, a life devoid of colour. That’s when I decided, I want to draw a smile upon my very life and laugh upon the humours of the world.

… and now I smile and laugh occasionally but a lot more than before. I accept it’s not always genuine, as might be the case with a lot of people.

Now, comes the main question ‘what makes me laugh?’ Well it began with laughing at stupidity, there is a lot of content on that on various social media platforms. But, as I became a tiny bit more mature, even my laughter developed a new taste and now I love to laugh at a glass of good comedy.

  1. Anuran and Sayoni,

I don’t want to comment on Hilarity. I just want to thank you for liking so many of my posts and I hope reading all of them. It is my passion to get the Word of God spread as far and wide as I can. I am also so worried that there are so many unbelievers who don’t realize that Jesus may be coming sooner than we think and so many still have to get their lives right with God and Jesus our loving Saviour.

  2. I love laughing at the simple things in life e.g. our kitten’s antics make me laugh. I laughed a lot when my great-granddaughter visited us and she and the kitten played around. Some of their games really were amusing.
But a smile always comes to my face when I look, past the pain He had to bear, and see Jesus full of love saving us on a cross.
