Before that let’s dive into today’s blog. Today I wanted to share 3 amazing temple history of India. India is a land of great history and spiritualism. There are temples which carry a great history with them. So here are 5 such temples.

Brahma Temple, Pushkar

There are very few temples dedicated to the Lord Brahma who is known as the Creator of the universe according to Hinduism. Brahma Temple in Pushkar is one of the mysterious temples in India where Lord Brahma is worshiped.

This mysterious temple is very close to sacred Pushkar Lake in Rajasthan, India. The sages, pilgrims visit this temple after taking a bath in Pushkar Lake.

As per Padma Purana, Lord Brahma slew a demon named Vajranabha with his special weapon lotus when he came to know about his evil action and sin. While slaying the demon, some petals of his lotus fell at the three places and this created three sacred lakes.

Those three lakes are now known as Jyestha Pushkar, the Madhya Pushkar, and Kanishka Pushkar. Rajasthan is also famous for its cultural music festival known as Rajasthan music festival.

Lepakshi Temple of Andhra Pradesh

Many tried exploring the Mystery of the hanging pillar of India Lepakshi temple of Andhra Pradesh that how a stone pillar hangs but failed . The mystery at the Lepakshi temple is how the hanging pillar was constructed or carved.

While sixty-nine other pillars support the ceiling, one corner pillar does not touch the temple floor at all.

There is a small gap between the temple floor and base of the pillar and you can pass thin objects like a piece of cloth from one side to the other.

As per the Puranas, the Veerabhadra temple was built by the sage Agastya. Moortis of Ganesha, Nandi, Veerabhadra, Shiva, Bhadrakali, Vishnu and Lakshmi are important deities in the temple.

It is also believed that Pakshi Jatayu fell at this spot after his battle with Ravana to rescue Mata Sita. Lord Rama is said to have said to the brave bird “LePakshi” — ‘rise, bird’ in Telugu. This temple also houses a footprint that is believed to be of Mata Sita.

The guides who take you around here will do different things to prove that the rock solid stone pillar is indeed hanging and is suspended, not touching the floor.

Like moving a twig slowly under the pillar. Or sending a scarf between the pillar’s base and the floor under it.

There are about 70 pillars at this fabulous 16th-century temple of stone in Vijayanagar style, but this one is the best known and a tribute to the engineering genius of ancient and medieval India’s temple builders.
