Inquisitivness

The human world has come a long way from a lifestyle of existence similar to other
organisms to the present day where mankind is progressing leaps and bounds every year in more fields and aspects than what could have been even imagined earlier. At the core of each phase of discovery, development and innovation among various other elements there
has been one basic and perhaps the most important element which has been the flag bearer of all significant changes, which is ‘curiosity. Everything present to us in the form of tangible or intangible knowledge today has had a curious brain behind it which has further ignited more curiosity which as a result has led to further research and innovation.

One may ask why curiosity in this day and age when everything seems completely answered at one internet search result of the desired topic.

Well, the answer is that the effectiveness of curiosity does not always mean finding or expanding new or already existing horizons of various multitudes, it has other mostly unnoticed traits as well. Even if you know about something, the question arises how much? Is everything available known? The awareness of the existence of knowledge more than is known and the subsequent effort to gain it is another important perspective of curiosity.

This process leads to the mind being more conscious of development about one single subject or multiple related or unrelated subject and as a result, the mind becomes more active with a stronger grasping and retaining capacity. With the mind becoming stronger at a subject, opinions and views developed which when moulded can lead to new ideas which open the door to endless possibilities. It only attracts more mind but also allows the already involved mind to stay interested and attracted. Being stagnant is not only demotivating but can completely diminish any further prospects of development.

To be curious and use it productively, one has to keep his/her mind open to the diversity of knowledge and information which is not only out there but also which is developing daily not only in one field but more. It can be done in the form of reading which is a highly effective medium while some videos on the topic might create the same effect. If a new idea erupts in mind one must not be demotivated by the thought of failure as in the end be it success or failure, what you are learning from it and how it is nurturing your curiosity is what matters the most and when in doubt ask questions and ask a question multiple times if you have to use what, why, when, who, where and how of every topic. Another important guideline is to be positive about things you learn, don’t declare something as being useless or boring just because it is not of your understanding, try to understand it better, add more effort and certainly, there will be a positive outcome. Curiosity can take us on a long path and a person determined to take that journey with determination and the ability to it will certainly lead to something unprecedented.

Let us now understand and reflect on a few points on how to develop the curiosity of mind.

To focus – if we can develop focus nothing can be better than that. The curiosity of the mind is developed through ultimate focus. Focus helps us to think and prostate in the process. If we think we are curious and thus helping in the ultimate goal of understanding to keep focussing. Students are always advised to be focused as it helps in creating focus among themselves and helps in understanding unsolved things.

To practice– we need to keep on practicing and learning. It opens the doorways to solve numerous problems and helps to understand with the mindset of curiosity. It was said that so many mathematical topics have emerged due to the contribution of practice in math. Practice helps us to be perfect.

Know the stories, understand and read- Be open when it comes to gaining knowledge and skill. Read different inspiring stories, develop skills and knowledge through those, understand things. Open the doubtful areas of your mind and body. This will help to have a great curious mind. According to Steve Jobs, we should stay hungry and stay foolish to develop knowledge, skill and understanding and confidence. The more you read the more you gain knowledge and with this, you will always remain curious. It will help to solve multiple facets of life and the like.

Communicate– Nothing can be better than a great coffee table communication or a room of communication. Communicate. If you want to develop your sense of knowledge and skill and understanding and belief. If you communicate with a person who has some other kind of knowledge, learning then you, topics will get exchanged, helping in the process of reaching our goal in the fullest possible way. If we hear an idea for the first time it can get into our mind and we create some kind of curiosity for our mind. It will help us to develop a curious mind. So it is always said to keep on communicating. It opens many doorways.

So we understand that communication is a very important part of our overall growth and development. It helps us to outgrow and ingrown. There are many questions in our mind, heart, some are good and we know some are not and so getting the right answer for our curious mind is very important. Do we must read and communicate? Together? Reading and communicating helps to explore our mind in a different spectrum of joy and sorrow. Children even develop curious minds through this process. So what we learnt is developmeious mind is only possible with a true mentor or guide who will answer all our questions and help us to reach our goal.
