What technology would you be better off without, why?
Once I was a child once sitting in a room full of people I called and still call family. The afternoon light of Sun coming through the open door of the balcony flooded in and some filtered light through glass of the window beside it also seeped in.
It was in ways more than one a unique time where people could keep on laughing, smiling and talking for hours without feeling the need to take out a device from their pockets and check it. The device was not available in the form it is today, it was confined to a room and only calls could be made.
I am not against smartphones; they have ushered in a world full of convenience which has made lives flexible in many ways. It does have its demerits but if you think about it, then the demerits are mostly due to our very own habits.
When I was small, technology was still in a dormant role. They were there and they were being used widely, but their presence enlightened what was already great about the world and made it more convenient. That was the motive behind it right, to make life better and for most part it has done that.
So, which technology would I be better off without? It is a difficult question, since the technologies present in my life at the moment have become a part of it and I have become accustomed to their presence, functionality and usage.
The technology that I would be better off without is probably those which I have not bought due to lack of their usage but still if I had to choose one among the ones I have right now then it would be my earbuds, at the height of my addiction towards them, I was even watching television after connecting them to it. Thanks to my concerned family members I was able to get over the addiction and don’t use them now beyond when needed. But life without them won’t be much of a problem.

Everything belongs, including technology. To exclude some of it would be a judgement…
