Driving Life

When do you feel most productive?

When I was school student and would see grownups in the house spending all that time, being fit, eating well, reading, staying updated to news, dressing up and preparing to go out for their work, or preparing to manage the house the entire day; I thought all that amounted up to being ready for work or being productive somehow, after all there had to be some steps of preparedness for facing it all.

When I grew up, I realised, of course it was important, if you eat right, keep yourself fit, it does give you that strong base to work upon, your mind has access to a whole new standard of potential. The other things you add in or manage as you experience life, there are things that work for you and there are things that don’t.

The reality of being a responsible adult is that, we have to keep a lot of things in mind, even when we might share that responsibility with another. I have often seen many who burn themselves out thinking just too much all the time, I used to be one of them and there were moments I would completely tire myself out from thinking a thousand things. But life functions in a certain way, and things are to be focused upon one at a time and if something is bothering you too much, just get in and get done with it first, put it in the shelf of things done at the soonest.

I feel the most productive when I can put all my focus on one task at a time, but that’s only the first step, the second is my mind and body should be fit enough to handle my thoughts and my actions and I do have quite a thoughtful work. Then eating right, don’t give in to stress eating (I sometimes do that) but rather focus on the benefit of eating light and being more full of usable energy that the body would otherwise have to use for all that digestion, it works for me even though I definitely don’t look like the person who does all that. One look at me and people nail the guess that I work from home. So, this is what keeps me productive, yes that light music playing in the background that has for me blended in the usuals of life is also there.

Apart from all that, the one and the most important is to know what you are working for, allowing it to motivate you and inspire you to do more and definitely dream more.

One response to “Driving Life”

  1. This is a thoughtful and grounded reflection on what productivity really means in everyday life.

What stands out is how honestly you trace the shift from childhood perception to adult reality. That realization—that preparation isn’t separate from productivity but part of it—is expressed in a very relatable way. You don’t idealize adulthood; instead, you show its weight, its mental load, and the quiet discipline it requires.
