How does your mindset affect your financial success?
There are things that come to us and there are things that we work hard to get. Both have an uncertain nature of different kinds since you can never know what’s coming or the amount of hard work you may have to put in.
One thing that I am sure everyone has realised and I know somewhere in the back of their minds everyone knows, that the kind of thought process matters a lot in achieving anything in life, no matter how small. For example, you want a camera, and you really want it, you imagine yourself holding it, using it, you feel what it brings to your life, maybe you love the hobby and decide it’s the right time in life to start or you need it for professional reasons or simply for the next big trip you are planning. So, you put in the effort to find the right model, read about it, see review videos online, maybe talk about it with an expert or to an attendant of a shop that sells cameras. Then you also think of what all you might need along with it, usually a lens, bag, tripod, gimbal stabiliser, etc, if you were me, you expose your mind to the skills required as well, then finally plan for how to pay for it, maybe you want to save a bit more before going for it. So, all that effort and time given with a single thought that a camera has to be bought and it eventually does come true.
There are many such things that happen in similar manner in life, we dedicate time and effort to things we want in life because it matters, the presence of that thing, whatever it maybe, matters to us, and it has to matter for it to inspire thought and effort. Once the owner of a company I worked in told me how he was serious in studies and his younger brother wasn’t, so his younger brother would hide comic books in school text books and pretend to study. But every time the obvious poor result came of examination his younger brother would cry around that why this was happening to him. So, this experience made the owner realise that a person has to deeply want to do or achieve something from within to actually be able to do it.
Hence to conclude, financial success is the same, in your mind it must matter from within. There are people who don’t chase it and many of them live a very fulfilling life. But if you can see why it matters to you and what is the meaning it will bring in your life that you feel is lacking, you will certainly make an effort to ensure that you can step on the right steps towards it and that will make a promising difference in the financial success you end up having.

One response to “How you end up having”
What a thoughtful reflection on the relationship between desire, mindset, and achievement. I especially liked your simple example of buying a camera—it beautifully shows that when something genuinely matters to us, a thought gradually becomes a plan, the plan becomes effort, and the effort can eventually become reality.
