I am sure there are quite some people out there whom you look at and think, ‘how are people earning doing this work while the rest of the world has to go through a lot?’ It feels like these people are having an easy life out there. They might not make you doubt yourself but they will make you wonder what the world is coming to. But nothing comes easily for sure and that is one thing everyone should know as soon as possible.
Rajesh was not sure whether he would be able to retain his job or not. From successfully selling insurance policies to failing at selling this estate planning services to people. He had been through some difficult times. He had thought that he had prepared well and had measured the ups and downs but things had not gone according to the imagination, the performance was far below the manageable expectations.
“You look like someone who could use a good opportunity”
Rajesh picked his head up from resting position on the table. A man, older to him, sat in a formal shirt, trousers and shoes, looking at him and smiling. There seemed to be a faint attempt at hiding an unpleasant feeling hidden somewhere within. Rajesh looked around, he had fallen asleep on a table in the café. The cup of coffee in front of him had gone cold a while back.
“I understand the toil, I used to have a work of such nature too,” continued the man
“I don’t want it, whatever it is you are trying to sell,” said Rajesh
“I am just trying to tell you about an opportunity that’s all,” said the man
Rajesh smiled sarcastically, “To do what exactly? Invest? Double wealth overnight? What is it?”
“It is not investment or sales and it’s legitimate. It has certainly changed lives. I myself am about to buy an apartment here in this very area. I am sure you are aware of the property prices here. Things don’t have to be hard; you don’t have to spend your life 9 to 5 in a place that will never give you enough. A little effort in the right direction can result in a world of changes,” said the man leaning back at table
Rajesh thought about it for a few seconds and noticed the bag next to the man “Is there a religious book in there? I have nothing against that, but no.”
Rajesh started getting up to leave.
“Our company is expanding, you just have to recruit people, like I am recruiting you. It’s all about networking, decent work, good income. Like I said a life changing opportunity,” said the man
“That’s it?” asked Rajesh
“That’s it,” said the man, keeping his smartphone on the table. It was an expensive smartphone.
“Is there nothing about the amount that I would have to give to be recruited and I have to convince others to do the same, earning bonus in the process?” asked Rajesh
The man was about to say something when Rajesh raised his hand, indicating to him to stop.
“Work does not arrive on table this manner and people are more aware to know what a Ponzi scheme sounds like. If you want, I can help you look for work,” said Rajesh as the man fumbled for words as he went through a world of emotions within.
